Revelation
10:1 - Then I saw another MIGHTY angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a
cloud,
with a
rainbow above his head; his face
was like the sun,
and his legs were like fiery pillars.
2 He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand.
He planted
his right foot
on the sea and his left foot on the land,
The cloud is the deity and
glory of God. The
rainbow is a symbol of God’s covenant and promise of mercy. The fiery pillars are His judgment.
Many students of the Word BS believe
that the MIGHTY angel was an Archangel like
Michael, since it says another,
like the one before; but in my BS I believe the description is more like
unto Jesus
the Christ.[1]
The position of His feet on the land and sea are indicative of Christ’s total authority
and power
over the whole earth. Whichever your BS
picks, you will still be in good company.
Some translations of the Bible say “book”
others say “scroll”;
anyway, the little book or scroll is pictured as “ALREADY
OPEN”,
so the scroll with the seals and little
book are the same. It is the Title Deed of
the earth; the earth is His and the fullness thereof.[2] It’s in the Book.
It was Christ who took the scroll or
book from the Father and opened it.[3]
Seven Thunders
Revelation
10:3 - and he gave a loud
shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the SEVEN THUNDERS spoke.
The
seven thunders represent the complete voice of God. Think of the magnitude of a hurricane.
This voice IS NOT an invitation of GRACE, but an
announcement of JUDGMENT.
It’s Powerful and Majestic,
it breaks, strikes, shakes, twists, and strips.[4] (7 thunders)
Seal it up
Revelation
10:4 - And when the SEVEN THUNDERS spoke,
I was about
to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "SEAL UP
what the seven thunders have said and DO NOT WRITE IT DOWN."
These
mysteries were SEEN and HEARD by John to “help”
in his
understanding of the revelation
that was being given. What the seven thunders spoke was for John’s ears only.[5] This is the ONLY words revealed
to John that has been sealed up in the book of Revelation. This is an indicator that
there are still mysteries that God has
retained for Himself.
I think it is interesting to point out
that the remainder of the Book of Revelation
IS NOT SEALED because we are
told that the time of the end is at hand and God wants us to know about it.[6]
Revelation 10:5-7 -Then the angel I
had seen STANDING ON THE SEA AND ON THE
LAND raised his right hand to heaven.
6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created
the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the
sea and all that is in it, and said, "THERE
WILL BE NO MORE DELAY!
7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his
trumpet,
the MYSTERY OF GOD will be accomplished,
just as he
announced to his servants the prophets."
Christ has taken total
authority over the Sea and the Land;
all the earth belongs to Him. The mystery is of Jesus Christ,[7]
the second Adam, taking back dominion of the
world which Satan had stolen from the first Adam. The scroll contained the “TITLE DEED” to earth. The scroll has been opened, the
earth has been redeemed and the slaves to sin are set free.[8]
Satan was allowed to
continue on this earth as an example to all angels, demons, men and creatures
that “God is
God”, that He is the “I am, that I am” and there is no other.
§ All creation has watched how many times God has provided Satan
and man a way back to Him.
§ All Creation has watched Satan
try to imitate God, and observed that he could not create anything.
§ All creation will see Satan’s and
his followers “works”
come to nothing and be burned up.
§ All creation will tell this
story over and over again, and shake their heads in disbelief at this
rebellion. It will
never happen again.
The Little Scroll
Revelation 10:8 - Then the voice that I had heard from
heaven spoke to me once more: "GO, take the scroll that lies OPEN
in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."
In my BS, the
Angel is actually Jesus Christ who alone was worthy to OPEN
the scroll; He is the one with his feet on Sea & Land; other students BS disagree embracing it is actually
a Seraphim Angel.
Take and Eat it
Revelation
10:9-10 - So I went to
the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "TAKE IT AND EAT IT. It
will turn
your stomach SOUR,
but in your mouth it will be as SWEET as honey."
10 I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it.
It tasted
as SWEET as honey
in my mouth,
but when I
had eaten it, my
stomach turned SOUR.
John’s spirit seems to be
on earth now as the little book has been transferred to him. Here it is implied that it’s not enough to READ the word; we are encouraged to DINE on it... to digest it... understand it...
make it part of our body life... live it... share it ...witness it.[9] God’s word, His love and provision is SWEET as honey as it is
received by the believer.[10]
Because of the rejection of God’s supreme
plan and the bitterness of the persecution that
follows,[11]
it turns SOUR. Don’t forget, John is
already in prison on the isle of Patmos.
It’s SWEET to the believer because of his rewards, but BITTER at the thought of those remaining who are perishing and will be
lost forever.[12] Thus
the term; “Bitter Sweet”
The word came down from the father and was
made flesh and lived among us so that we might DIGEST His word into
our body and receive eternal life.[13]
Revelation 10:11
- Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about
many
peoples, nations, languages and kings."
There
is a change up here; this next prophesy was not intended just for ISRAEL or the surrounding land, but FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.[14] Some students of the word BS believe
this specific scripture might suggest that John could be one of the TWO WITNESSES that
in the end times preaches to the nations starting in Jerusalem; who knows! Just
saying.
Did you see it? The Book of
Revelation is a HOPE CHEST containing the
plans of God for the Believer of the SWEET things that are to come, BUT for the Un-Believer and Make-Believer these plans are a BITTER pill to
swallow. Their CHEST is a COFFIN of BITTERNESS containing NO HOPE.

And he made known to us the mystery of his will
according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into
effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment-to bring all things
in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ -- Ephesians 3:6 - This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles
are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers
together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 3:9 - To make
plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,
which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things -- Colossians
1:27 - To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious
riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory -- Colossians 1:26 - The mystery that
has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the
saints -- Amos 3:7 - Surely the Sovereign LORD does
nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets

only to Jews. -- Hebrews 10:33 - Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult
and PERSECUTION;

And when I ate it,

[13] John 1:14 - The Word became FLESH and made
his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth -- John 6:53-54 - I tell you the truth, unless you eat the FLESH of the Son
of Man and drink his BLOOD, you have no life in you...Whoever
eats my FLESH and drinks my BLOOD has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
